Chapter Philanthropy

Nu Chapter's main philanthropic focus is to raise money for the Tri Sigma Foundation through our fall philanthropy the Mr. Robbie Page Pageant, and our spring philanthropy, Pennies for Page.  However, our chapter members support the philanthropies of all their Greek partners, both financially and through member participation!  They also participate in community service opportunities on the UCM campus and througout Warrensburg.

All of our members are expected to participate in a minimum of 20 community service hours, on their own, each year... in addition to our chapter projects.  In 2016, 96% of our members volunteered at least 30 hours, on their own!  The members totaled over 6200 hours of volunteerism!  Through fundraising efforts, our chapter was able to donate $10,640 to the Tri Sigma Foundation and a wide variety of other worthy causes.  Our members truly believe that "to receive much, you must give much".

Mr. Robbie Page Pageant is a male beauty pageant open to any man represented by a fraternity or male candidate put forth by a sorority or another campus organization. The men learn dances, perform their talents, and answer fishbowl questions in front of the audience. We always have a fantastic turn out, as the whole community gathers to watch their candidates. They also learn where the money from ticket purchases goes through videos and excerpts provided during intermissions, which stress the importance of the Tri Sigma Foundation.

Our spring philanthropy, Pennies for Page, is a penny war in which all Greek chapters to participate. Our women collect donations from men and women eager to have their chapter win first prize. With all donations going toward the Tri Sigma Foundation, the name of the competition is in honor of Robbie Page, a former National President's son who suffered from polio.  The winning chapter is treated to an ice cream social with our chapter!

As of June 2016, Sigma Sigma Sigma partnered with the March of Dimes, a foundation raising awareness on premature birth. We are very excited to find new ways to become involved with this amazing foundation and to work with them for this cause.
